Parish Technology 101

When in doubt, Google! The internet is a wonderful resource to solve all technology problems. Parish Administrators are also welcome to reach out for advice and support to Anna van der Hooft, Digital Communications and Project Coordinator. Please note: Anna will be on Maternity Leave August 1, 2024 until February 1, 2024.

Help desks. Microsoft and Tithely both have excellent “help support” pages on their websites for all possible problems.

Tithely: support@tithe.ly

Total Support: help@totalsupport.solutions or call 1.855.437.4335

Microsoft 365 Licenses. The Diocese pays for each parish to have the basic E1 Microsoft license, which allows parishes to access the programs (outlook, word, excel, etc) from a browser page on the internet. If a parish wants to upgrade to an E2 or E3 license to access the programs on the desktop apps, the parish can go ahead and pay for that upgrade separately.

Things a Parish Administrator or Parish Tech Support Employee should know:

  • that your website host is Tithely.
  • what company your domain name is registered with and the account access information.
  • that Microsoft Office 365 should be used for all official communication and church business/work.
  • who else has administrative access and can make changes to your parish website.
  • who the global administrator of your 365 account is.
  • who your internet provider is and what speed your internet is.
