Thank you to all those who have completed their safe church training (1,041 volunteers) in this diocese.  This program is an important contribution to living out our baptismal covenant to respect the dignity of every human being.  Going forward we will no longer be using the Praesidium software for training. The training video created by the Synod Office has been signed off on by our insurance providers and is a more efficient and contextual experience. In order to fulfill requirements, an authorized person must observe you watch the video. You can set up an appointment to watch it at the synod office by contacting Karen at (safechurch@bc.anglican.ca) or the Safe Church coordinator at your parish.

Our annual Wardens and Treasurers Day will take place on Saturday, March 22 from 10am to 3pm at St. Paul’s in Nanaimo. This event is designed for wardens and treasurers; however others in leadership at your parish who may benefit from these topics are welcome to attend. Please mark your calendars and plan to join us!

Wardens and Treasurers Day is an opportunity key leaders in our parishes to gather with one another, share ideas, ask questions, and learn about resources for their particular ministries. In addition to content that we heard was helpful in the past, we will offer several new sessions so that the day is beneficial for those who have attended before and those who are attending for the first time. A line-up of sessions will be available soon.

Registration is required by March 3, 2025.

Diocesan-wide Confirmations will take place on May 4, 2024 at 4pm at Christ Church Cathedral in Victoria.
