Bishop Anna has appointed the Rev. Matt Humphrey as incumbent of St. Michael and All Angels, Royal Oak, effective October 15, 2026. Matt comes to St. Michael's from AbbeyChurch, a church plant of our diocese here in Victoria, and he has also served at St. Matthias, Victoria, and the Parish of Central Saanich. Matt's pastoral heart and creativity in worship and Christian formation will be gifts for St. Michael's, and will be a steady presence in the years to come. 

The following information pertains only to Synod delegates. 

The upcoming regional conferences will elect a lay and clergy representative from their region to serve on Diocesan Council. If you are willing and able to stand for election at your regional conference for membership on Diocesan Council, you are asked to provide a short biography (approx. 200 words and no more than 250 words) and a picture to synod@bc.anglican.ca. The deadline for nominations to be received is September 15th, 2026.

If a delegate wishes to bring a motion to Synod, that motion needs to be in writing, moved and seconded by synod delegates, and delivered to the Resolutions Committee by September 15th. As chair of the Resolutions Committee, the Chancellor is happy to receive all motions at chancellor@bc.anglican.ca. The Resolutions Committee then needs to seek approval by Diocesan Council for each motion to be brought to Synod pursuant to Article X of our Constitution. Once a motion has been approved, it will be included in the convening circular for Synod, which will be released in mid-October.

The Synod office is located at 900 Vancouver St, Victoria BC. Limited parking is available outside the office, as well as by Christ Church Cathedral. 

The parish of St. Peter, Saanich (Lakehill) will be holding a celebration of new ministry to mark their successful amalgamation. They invite all parishes to attend and express their thankfulness on September 27th, at 3:00pm. St. Peter is located at 3939 St. Peter's Rd, Victoria, BC. There is parking outside the church and it is on the 6 bus route. 

The event will be followed by a potluck, which all are welcome to join.

All are invited to join Bishop Anna at St. Peter's, Quamichan on September 30, National Day of Truth and Reconciliation, for an overview of the Colonial history of the Cowichan Valley. 

The presentation and discussion will take place in the parish hall from 1:30 – 3:00 pm. St. Peters Quamichan is located just outside of Duncan at 5800 Church Road.

Registration for the celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Priesting of Women in the Anglican Church of Canada is now open. The event is being hosted by our diocese at Christ Church Cathedral in Victoria on November 24-25, 2026. Come and join us as we give thanks for the many ways women have contributed to the life of the church as presbyters and look to the future to examine the challenges that lie ahead for women in the church and Canadian society.
