The bishop has appointed Sulin Milne as incumbent at St. Peter, Comox, effective September 16, 2019.
Sulin comes to the diocese from the Diocese of St. David’s (part of the Ecclesiastical Province of the Church in Wales), but is familiar with our islands and inlets as she did a placement with St John the Divine, Courtenay in August 2016.
We look forward to welcoming Sulin in September. Please pray for Sulin and her family as they prepare to make a transcontinental move, and for Rob Hutchison as he prepares to wrap-up his interim ministry at St Peter.
More about Sulin
Sulin was born in the south of England but moved to Wales in 2001 where she has lived ever since. She first visited Canada at nine-years-old—a once-in-a-lifetime vacation to visit family, which turned out to be the first of about a dozen trips to Vancouver and the Island. Sulin fell in love with the country on that first visit and she’s delighted to have this opportunity to live and work in Canada all these years later.
Sulin has five children (three are now adults) and a small dog with a big personality. In her off time, Sulin enjoys being outdoors, and especially enjoys geocaching, walking, and cycling—and the dog enjoys all three activities with her! She is also accomplished at hand knitting and needlework, having been a professional knitwear designer before her ordination. She published a book in 2007 called This Blessed Vale: A History of Brongest and Troedyraur.
