While Barry officially retired at the end of December 2022, he continues to support the diocese as advisor to the bishop.
Barry has been ordained for 35 years. He was the executive officer for the diocese of Calgary for 21 years, and the executive officer of this diocese from January 2019 to December 2022. In his current role, Barry helps the bishop with special projects as requested.
Barry's previous duties as executive officer have been divided between The Venerable Eric Patridge, executive archdeacon (focus areas: finance, HR, Canons), and Brendon Neilson, executive director (focus: property/assets, Diocesan Council, Privacy, Refugee Program).
