REGIONAL MEETINGS IN 2026
Gatherings are held across the diocese in each of the four regions. These regional meetings are an important opportunity for all members of the diocese, but particularly synod delegates to be informed about and have input into our shared work as Christ's body of Anglicans here on these islands and inlets. Clergy, wardens, treasurers, and synod delegates and alternates all have both voice and vote at these meetings; all others from the region are welcome to attend.

SYNOD 2026
Deadline for Nominations to Diocesan Council
Send a short biography (200-250 words) and a picture to synod@bc.anglican.ca by September 15th, 2026

Deadline for Notice of Motions for Synod
If a delegate wishes to bring a motion to Synod, that motion needs to be in writing, moved and seconded by synod delegates, and delivered to the chair of the Resolutions Committee (chancellor@bc.anglican.ca) by September 15th, 2026.
Deadline for Other Nominations
Nominations for all the positions below must be sent to synod@bc.anglican.ca by October 15th, 2026.

Delegates to General Synod: General Synod is scheduled for May 8-14th, 2028 in St. John’s, Newfoundland. The Diocese sends three lay and three clerical representatives and may also send one youth representative (who must be between the ages of 16 and 26 at the time of General Synod). The Diocese will cover the cost of travel. Those letting their name stand should know that there is an expectation that a good portion of those who go to General Synod also serve on other national church bodies and consider letting their names stand for the Council of General Synod. You need not be a member of the diocesan synod to let your name stand, but you must be eligible to be a member of the diocesan synod.
Delegates to Provincial Synod: Provincial Synod will next meet September 17th and 18th, 2027 at the Sorrento Centre in Sorrento, BC. The Diocese sends three lay delegates and two clergy delegates. Again, there is an expectation that a good portion of those who go to Provincial Synod considering letting their name stand for the Provincial Executive or in other roles in the Ecclesiastical Province.
