The Rev. Canon Brenda Nestegaard Paul is retiring. Her last day as incumbent of Trinity Anglican + Lutheran Church will be December 31, 2023.

We are grateful for Brenda's ministry and leadership and wish her a happy retirement.

All are welcome to attend the investiture service of the Order of the Diocese of British Columbia, which celebrates and recognizes lay people who have given extraordinary service to their parishes and the diocese.

The service will be live streamed on the diocesan and cathedral websites.

A list of 2023 recipients will be published in early October. Look for more in the Faith Tides and on the diocesan and parish websites then.

Intersections: A Dialogue Series is an opportunity to engage with Challenging Racist ‘British Columbia’: 150 Years and Counting (CRBC). Produced as part of the commemorations of 150 years since BC joined Canada, this open-access, multimedia resources documents how the recent cycle of anti-racist activism in this province is part of a broader history of Indigenous, Black and other racialized communities challenging white supremacy for over 150 years.

If you would like to order a hard copy of Challenging Racist 'British Columbia', you can do so through the University of Victoria Bookstore.

Capacity is limited to 30 participants so please RSVP by clicking on the RSVP button. The deadline to RSVP is October 9, 2023. A zoom link and participant guides will be sent to all participants prior to the first session on October 25th, 2023.

Tahmina Akakhil has been reunited with her sister, Khadijah by the Refugee Sponsorship Program in our diocese. Tahmina was forced to flee Afghanistan a year ago and was brought here by a sponsorship group led by Patricia Houston. Patricia promised to help her be reunited with her sister and this past week, that promise was realized.

Congratulations to Patricia Houston and Jibril Mohamed, our Provincial Refugee Coordination, for their incredible work in our diocese. Welcome to Khadijah and her husband Hamed!
