With sadness but also joy for her future, we announce that The Rev. Sandra Hounsell-Drover has announced her resignation as incumbent at Church of the Advent, Colwood and as regional dean to Selkirk.

Sandra’s decision to leave the parish and the diocese has been quite difficult, but Sandra and her children have found it also difficult to be separated from husband/father The Rev. Lieutenant Commander John Hounsell-Drover, chaplain to the Canadian Forces and past priest of the Diocese of British Columbia, who is on a long-term posting in Kingston, Ontario. Sandra and her family will move to Ontario to be reunited as a family, permanently.  

In order to coordinate the move with the CF and also due to the complications of our current pandemic-climate, Sandra’s resignation date will be open-ended. Sandra will begin to prepare the parish to enter a time of interim ministry, and at such time that her official last day in the parish can be confirmed, we will make an appropriate announcement.  

Please pray for the parish of the Church of the Advent as they prepare to wish warm farewells to Sandra and enter into an interim period. Please also pray for Sandra, for her husband John, and for their children, William and Peter, as they prepare for a large transition to the East Coast, though buoyed with the happy promise of being reunited as a family.
