The bishop of the Anglican Diocese of British Columbia seeks a full-time incumbent for the parish of St Andrew, Sidney (Saanich Peninsula area).

The Diocese of British Columbia is an equitable employer that operates with humility and gratitude to the First Peoples of Turtle Island on whose traditional lands we work and play. We are a regional expression of the Anglican Church of Canada, part of the worldwide Anglican Communion, and one part of the whole body of Christ. We are a progressive church where seekers are welcome to receive communion, baptism, marriage and ordination on an equal basis. The parish of St Andrew is one of three Anglican parishes in the Saanich Peninsula area and one of forty-six diocesan parishes extending across Vancouver Island, the Gulf Islands of the Salish Sea and Kingcome Inlet.

St Andrew is located in Sidney by-the-Sea (population c. 12,000). The congregation of approximately 200 characterizes itself as a creative spiritual community. Its goal is to “know, proclaim and become living examples of Christ.” Parishioners take pride in their outreach work in the community as well as their care for the spiritual growth and development of the members of their parish through traditional worship, Bible study, prayer gatherings, pastoral care, and fellowship.

If your priestly vocation aligns with where God seems to be leading St Andrew, we want to hear from you. The parish profile can be obtained from Tara Saracuse, executive assistant to the bishop. Deadline for applications is January 31, 2023.
