This week, Canada is celebrating National Volunteer Week with the theme “Celebrate the Value of Volunteering – building confidence, competence, connections and community.”

As disciples of Christ and members of the Anglican Church of Canada, we know how important unpaid work is to the fabric of our community. In helping lead worship, teaching Sunday school, organizing community events, serving meals, taking care of church properties, serving on parish and diocesan committees, and countless other activities in the life of the church, Anglicans on these islands and inlets give thousands of hours each year to the work of transforming the world for Christ.
