Welcome Lisa!
The diocese is pleased to welcome our new Canon Pastor Lisa Alexander! Lisa is an experienced dispute resolution professional who recently retired as a lawyer and who still works as a mediator, family law supervisor, and conflict resolution educator. For the entirety of her career, Lisa has paid careful attention to how people act and react during conflict. She has always been curious about how best to support all parties in a dispute. At its best, conflict properly managed is conflict that has the possibility to transform individuals, families, and communities. In addition to her legal and mediation practice, Lisa worked actively as a trainer in the areas of collaborative practice, mediation, family violence screening training, and communication and negotiation skills. Lisa has provided training for professionals all over the world. She is currently a Director for the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals co-leading the Education and Training Committee and is also working towards accreditation as a family law supervisor. She worships at St Philip Anglican Church in Victoria, BC. We are privileged to have Lisa take on this important role and ask that you hold her in your prayers as she becomes familiar with the diocese and our people! |
