Williams passed away peacefully at the age of 99 in the Palliative Care Unit at Nanaimo Regional Hospital on May 15, 2026. A celebration of life, with Eucharist, will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, June 13, at St. Philips-by-the-Sea Anglican Church, 7113 Lantzville Road, Lantzville. All are welcome. Encountered by the Holy2026 O’Driscoll Forum on Preaching and the Arts - Sunday, June 14, 2026 Vancouver School of Theology is hosting "Encountered by the Holy," the 2026 O’Driscoll Forum on Preaching and the Arts, on June 14-15, 2026. This two-day gathering will explore how encounters with the holy shape preaching, worship, music, storytelling, and public life through worship, lectures, conversation, and artistic practice. The forum features Craig Barnes and Julian Davis Reid, founder of Notes of Rest®, alongside guest sages including Will Willimon, Sally A. Brown, Paul Scott Wilson, James Henry Harris, and Stephen Farris. Two free public events are also open to the wider community:

50 Years of the Priesting of WomenRegistration is now open! Registration for the celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Priesting of Women in the Anglican Church of Canada opened June 1. The event is being hosted by our diocese in Victoria on November 24-25, 2026. Come and join us as we give thanks for the many ways women have contributed to the life of the church as presbyters and look to the future to examine the challenges that lie ahead for women in the church and Canadian society.
