The Parish Administrator works with the wardens, treasurer, and parishioners to serve both the church and the community. The wardens and council are responsible for the supervision of the Parish Administrator in the absence of an incumbent (priest).
Tasks include but not limited to:
- Monitor and update church calendar(s) for/with events/bookings/appointments
- Handle email correspondence in a timely manner (parishioners/renters/contractors).
- Prepare weekly service materials, including printing prior to the Sunday service.
- Update St. Philips website and Facebook pages as needed (service and event advertisements and reminders).
- Update outdoor church sign as needed.
- Pick up mail from the church mailbox (Lantzville Rd) at least once per week.
- Attend Parish Council meetings (2nd Thursday of each month at 7pm – approx. 1 hr) and prepare/share minutes.
- Attend the Annual Vestry Meeting (once per year – late February) and prepare all documentation/reports/minutes.
- Prepare posters to advertise church events (using Canva)
We are looking for:
- A person who can work independently but also collaborates well with others.
- A person with good time management and who is well organized.
- The successful candidate will be required to provide a Police Information Check with a Vulnerable Sector search and abide by all diocesan policies.
- Part-time, 10 to 12 hours per week paid bi-weekly at $20/hour.
- Start date September 3rd, 2024.
- Whilst we would welcome a Parish Administrator who would like to be a member of the parish, attendance at and knowledge of the Anglican church is not a requirement for this position.
