All are welcome to attend. We are excited to welcome the Primate of the Anglican Church of Canada, Archbishop Shane Parker, to our diocese for this service. Archbishop Shane will preach and present the Anglican Award of Merit to Canon Ian Alexander. The purpose of the Order is to honour and give special recognition to members of the diocese (and in the case of honourary awards, those not part of the diocese) who have given outstanding service over a significant period of time in their baptismal ministry. We Together 2025: Meet the keynote speakerJohn J. Thatamanil We Together is our bi-annual diocesan conference. This year the theme is God is Not Elsewhere. The conference will take place on November 14-15 at St. Paul, Nanaimo. The Rev. Dr. John J. Thatamanil will be the keynote speaker. John is a Professor of Theology and World Religions at Union Theological Seminary in the city of New York. He is an Anglican Priest in and Diocesan Theologian for the Diocese of Islands and Inlets. The Love that Is Not In Hiding with John J. Thatamanil If God is not elsewhere, God must be available to experience here and now. What wisdom and practices do we need to access the love that is not in hiding? Recalling Karl Rahner's dictum, "The Christian of the future will be a mystic or not at all," this talk suggests that an embodied encounter with divine immanence is desperately needed to bring Christian spirituality into maturity. The deadline to register for We Together is November 3. For more infomation visit:
