The Order of the Diocese of BCSaturday, October 25, 2025 The 2025 Order of the Diocese of BC investiture service will take place at Christ Church Cathedral, Victoria, on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 10:30am - 12 noon. All are welcome to attend. The primate, Archbishop Shane Parker, will also be attending the service. Archbishop Shane will be preaching and will present the Anglican Award of Merit. The purpose of the Order is to honour and give special recognition to members of the diocese (and in the case of honourary awards, those not part of the diocese) who have given outstanding service over a significant period of time in their baptismal ministry. We Together 2025: Meet the speakersChristine Conkin and Brendon Neilson We Together, the bi-annual diocesan conference, is taking place on November 14-15 at St. Paul's, Nanaimo. The second, full day will feature a series of workshops. For the afternoon workshop session attendees will have the choice between workshops with Christine Conkin and Brendon Neilson. Following Jesus - Leading in Community: Lessons from the dance floor with Christine Conkin In a world that so highly values leadership, how do we learn to engage Jesus' call: "Follow me!"? Social swing dancing offers a unique perspective and opportunity to learn good followship with joy and rhythm. The Rev. Christine Conkin is currently incumbent of St. George, Cadboro Bay. Without Metaphor, No Saving God with Brendon Neilson This session will explore how metaphor works, what that means for our experience of this life, and how that works into our theologies and how we embody our convictions.
