It is with great sadness, we share the news of the passing of John Lancaster. Rest Eternal grant unto him.

John served in Sooke, at Christ Church Cathedral Cathedral, and for many years at St. John the Divine in Courtney. He served this diocese faithfully for many years on several councils, committees and synods. When he retired he moved to the Roman Catholic Church. 

Please keep his wife Miriam and their daughter Jordon in your prayers. 

The Bishop has accepted David Fitzsimmons retirement as an active deacon of St. Peter, Campbell River, effective June 25th, 2023 and Andrew Twiddy's retirement as the incumbent of St. Anne and St. Edmund in Parksville, effecting at the end of June. We would like to extend our gratitude to David and Andrew for their service. 

Also at the end of June, Meagan Crosby-Shearer will be stepping down to honorary status at the Emmaus Community / Abbey Church. Matthew Humphrey will be stepping into an increased role as of July 1, 2023. 

The Synod Office got a new phone system last week so all of our extensions have changed. All of our new information is up on the website and when you dial in, the staff directory is listed. For more information or to review our new extensions, please visit the website by clicking here. 

We welcome anyone dropping by during our office hours, Monday to Thursday, 9am-3pm. However, we cannot guarentee a staff member may be available without an appointment. If someone cannot meet with you during your visit, we will help you make an appointment or call or email you as soon as possible. You can contact each staff member directly to make in-person meeting appointments. Appointments to the see the Bishop should be made through Paula Blundell.

Teresa is now answering the payroll@bc.anglican.ca email. We ask that all payroll information goes through this email and is no longer sent to finance@bc.anglican.ca or to the Finance Officer, Gillian Astbury-Heinke.

This week, Isabel Weeks, Bishop Anna, Christine Conkin, Alastair Singh-McCollum, Ian Alexander, Michael Wolff and Elizabeth Murphy will be in Calgary at General Synod. Updates on General Synod can be found  by visiting the national website, here. 

Bishop Anna’s summer availability is very limited .  

After General Synod (June 26- July 2) the Bishop will be taking two weeks holiday. She will be back in the office for a few days the week of July 17 but then will be out of the office for the rest of the summer visiting parishes, enjoying additional holiday time and teaching a course at Sorrento.
