Learn to Meditate

Day: Mondays and Thursdays

Time: 4:30 pm – 5:30 pm

Where: UVic Multifaith Centre, Celebration Hall

Meditation is a simple spiritual practice that helps reduce stress and anxiety, develop inner stillness, increase self-awareness, and open the heart and mind to a sacred presence. In this Learn to Meditate program, you are invited to integrate mindfulness as a regular part of your university experience.    During each session, participants are offered instruction in a simple breath meditation, which we then practice together as a group. There is time at the end for questions and discussion. No previous meditation experience is expected and advance registration is not required for this program. Just show up! Meditating in community is where you want to be!

The meditation community at UVic’s Multifaith Centre is a group of open-hearted folks. Learn to Meditate is offered in association with the UVic Meditation Club and is led by various Spiritual Care Providers at the Multifaith Centre, including David Batterham, Hoyu Boulter, and Ruth Dantzer.  For more information contact multifaith@uvic.ca.

This program happens during the academic year from September to April. For specific dates, refer to the Student Wellness Calendar by clicking here.
