Ruth Dantzer, MDiv, was appointed as the Anglican chaplain for the University of Victoria’s Multifaith Centre in January 2017. Her previous work experience includes being a chaplain in a hospice setting, at an addiction treatment centre, and a trauma hospital. She also has experience as a retreat leader, yoga teacher, and as a spiritual director. She is a contemplative at heart and she admires the wisdom that is preserved in the world’s spiritual traditions.
As the Anglican chaplain, Ruth strives to help students recognize their gifts and to deepen their spiritual lives. Ruth holds a steadfast commitment to diversity and her hope is that her ministry and programming at UVic reflect this core value.
Ruth would like to encourage parishes in the diocese to get involved in this particular ministry and she extends a heartfelt invitation to all members of the diocese to attend any of the events that are happening under the Anglican umbrella of programming at UVic.
